i love the machine. the only problem that i have is, it does NOT grip the ground very well. i am looking into purchasing some better tires so i can turn it better.

When I first purchased my 54in. RZT with a Kawasaki motor, I was a little ambivalent. This was my first zero turn lawn mower. I was not convinced that it would drastically reduce my cutting time as advertised. I was confident it had the reliability that my Cub Cadet tractor had ,but it had to prove it. I put this machine through some abusive situations like bouncing the deck off rocks (most of it accidental) and super high grass. After all that, I have cut my cutting time almost in half! It's not often when you find a product that performs as advertised and this Cub Cadet does! Oh, and another thing. I am not the littlest of men and I had no problems with the controls or comfort of this machine. This is one tough machine and I do recommend it.

I bought this mower 2007-08---54" KW from Trackor Supply and it's the best mower I've owned to date. It cuts great and I get my acre of thick grass cut quick---neighbors are jealous! I added lights to the front (vehicle fog lights) so I could cut the grass when its not so hot outside in Florida. The only thing I've had to maintain besides the oil/ filter/ blades/ belt/ battery is the front wheel axels, they wore out from me cutting grass like a warrior, maybe they could be designed a little bit better...I also put a trickel charger on the battery to pro long it's life when it sits between cuts...One thing to keep in mind with any fast riding mower---The mower cuts great as long as you watch your speed if the grass is too high or if it's wet. I give this mower a 4.5 out of 5!

i purchased my cub rzt54 last summer and have been dissapointed from day one. the mower doesnt cut like it should. with very few hours on it, the muffler blew off and stripped the threads. the deck clogs very easily on any turf. last week the starter nut backed off and i lost everything to the top of the starter. i do like the manuverablity of the mower it does handle good.

The CONs: Hr meter has never worked. Should have gone back to seller (HD), but I had grass to cut. Yes, the deck clogs up--when the grass is thick and WET. I've yet to use a mower that didn't. The deck wash feature isn't really useful.
The PROs: Very easy to operate. Easy to remove deck for belt change or other maintenance. Quite a bit faster than my other brand mower. Easy to service--oil and air filters easy to get to, extension tube to drain the oil through the deck. I like the blade mount system; the bolts have the star pattern on them so you don't have to hold the blade separately to keep aligned. I have over 200 hrs in two years. One 6 acre church yard gets mowed 2x each month. I'm happy with it and recommend it.

mower has the power but deck constantly plugs. only mowing 1 acre twice a week . have to raise it up to 3 times in 1 mowing to unplug the deck I have 40 hrs on it and the local IH dealer i bought it from won't even trade it back in. They also won't sell this model any more but of course it was 1 of the best machines they ever sold
